About the Celebration

The Salisbury Association Historical Society and Scoville Memorial Library, along with the Town of Salisbury, are coordinating and publicizing an exciting lineup of events to commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding.

Below is a list of scheduled events in 2026, along with a link for more information when it becomes available. Be sure to check regularly for updates throughout the year.

Salisbury School students will present songs from the musical, “Hamilton”

Historical exhibit of the Cannon Museum which was originally located at the Holley Williams House

Date: May to September – Academy Building - 25 Main Street, Salisbury

The nation's 250th Birthday and the Salisbury Association's 50th year sponsoring July 4th at the Town Grove and Satre Hill

Date: July 4 – Noon at the Grove in Lakeville

Come enjoy...

  • The annual reading of the Declaration of Independence
  • A special Boat Parade
  • A concert by the Salisbury Band
  • Hot dogs and drinks by EXTRAS

In the evening, bring the whole family to Satre Hill for a special program:

  • Dancin' music by DJ Slick-Rick and free Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Spectacular July 4th Laser Light Show (Laser Show Rain Date: July 5th)
